Airing 26 - "Rays, Haze"

After last week's slight binge on upbeat beatz, i had to bring things back to earth. It's actually pretty similar to a "morning after": starts off a little upbeat, but then solidifies into a sustained "zone" (luckily for you, in music this is called "chillness", whereas in biology it's called "damnstilldrunkness"). If i use any more quotation marks in this post, I will officially be "a prick."
But anyways, a new dj was a-trainin' during this airing, which accounts for the extreme lack of song a-nnouncin' for the first while. He even took the reigns and made it rain with some jazz classics near the end of the show. His picks, as well as our stellar closing remarks, were sadly lost to the perils of digital media, and thus do not appear in the archived airing.
But be sure to tune in to Sebastian's jazz show on Tuesdays from 7-8am; it promises to be rad in ways heretofore only dreamt of.

Some, like, technical problems and sheez this week. Not that bad, but I had to restart a song or two because our CD players were being temperamental. The archived show preserves these precious moments in all of their unpolished glory - college radio at it's finest.

Oh and I'm gonna try something new for you, dear blog consumer: i'll be italicizing my favorite new songs from each show, starting with this one. I like all the music that I play, but some songs are just dang awesome, and i'd like to foist my opinions onto you as much as possible.

Airing 22 - "Savory Spiritual"

Ok, so this is like a week and a half belated. And due to various factors (including, but not solely on account of, laziness), there will be no playlist for this airing. Maybe a couple weeks down the line one will show up, but don't get your hopes up.
But since I actually recorded this show, you get to hear the track names straight from the smooth, sassy voice of dj paul. Except that I only announce them like every 45 minutes...

Same deal as the first airing - the archive is just a mix, not an actual recording of the show.
This is a really good one though, and you can start to see the trend that i'm heading towards: all new music. I played out a lot of my collection last year, and I want to keep the jive hours extra fresh.
